The scammer called early Friday morning. A Lumpkin County woman picked up the phone and a man on the other end of the line identified himself as the woman’s grandson. “She said he sounded familiar,” stated Deputy Corey Bailey in a recent Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office report.

If a global pandemic and ongoing 2020 headaches weren’t enough, The Dahlonega Nugget’s internet system failed in the early hours of last Friday morning, Nov. 6. The Nugget relies on its parent company Community Newspapers Inc.’s (CNI) servers located in Athens.

Camp Wahsega hosts homeschool programs

For students who live in the area, homeschool doesn’t have to mean staying home to learn. The staff at Dahlonega’s Wahsega 4-H Center is welcoming children in all grades for the next couple of months to visit and check out many of their outdoor learning activities.
