Glenda Pender is looking forward to the singing and picking that used to be an annual tradition each spring in Dahlonega. But mostly, she’s looking forward to the bear hugs and the stories that accompany them. “It’s going to be wild when we finally can get together,” Pender said.

Sheppard makes move from coroner to magistrate judge

Lumpkin County’s Magistrate Court has a new associate judge. Jim Sheppard, formerly the county’s coroner, takes his new position effective immediately. “He’s a perfect fit,” said Chief Magistrate Judge Randy Pruitt.
