The dream of a new Community Helping Place clinic is slowly and surely becoming groundbreaking reality on Rock House Road. “Just one year ago, Community Helping Place embarked on an ambitious journey,” stated CHP Director Melissa Line.

Heart transplant gives adopted baby and family hope

Tamara and Justin Harris weren’t planning to adopt another child. However, after the most hectic year of the Dahlonega family’s lives, the two can’t imagine life without their ‘miracle baby.’ “Rynli is a gift, she is pure joy all the time,” Tamara said.

The familiar blur of pumping pedals and spinning spokes is returning to the roads of Lumpkin County this Sunday as Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty rolls on once again. The race officially kicks off at the parking lot of Lumpkin County High School at 8 a.m.

Thanks to teachers with CDL licenses filling in and some recent bus route consolidation, Lumpkin County Schools seems to have weathered a storm in the form of a bus driver shortage to start the school year. Superintendent Dr.
