Varsity softball set to compete in State Playoffs

The Lumpkin County High School softball team hosted their Senior Night this week as they closed out the regular-season competition, picking up three straight wins and punching their ticket into the State Playoffs. The team’s week started with a 9-1 victory over Rabun County during Senior Night.

Eighth grade football wins second straight undefeated Championship

The Lumpkin County Middle School football team won its second straight Eighth Grade Mountain League Championship following an undefeated season. After earning the number one seed going into the finals, the Indians had the opportunity to host the finals here at home.

The Lumpkin County High School football team clashed with region newcomer Johnson on the road in Oakwood this week. The Tribe ultimately dominated the field en route to a 64-14 victory.

Middle school team sets sights on football finals

This is a story that’s been nearly two years in the making for the Lumpkin County Middle School eighth-grade football team. After coming up short in the Mountain League Championship game last season to Gilmer, the young team has zeroed in on correcting its past shortcomings.
Following last week’s win, the Senior Class became the winningest class in Lumpkin County football history with 26 total wins and counting.

When you look back at last season’s success for the Lumpkin County Varsity football team, one game that comes to mind is the quadruple overtime thriller that saw the Indians come out on top 61-55 over the White County Warriors.

New coaching staff set for UNG softball

Lumpkin football wins Monday night thriller

In a game delayed until Monday night due to last week’s hurricane, the Lumpkin County varsity football team won another knock down brawl over the White County Warriors by a score of 29-23. The game was decided on a fourth and seven play as White County lined up just outside the Lumpkin 10 yard line.

Raiders eye strong run in mixed-state competition

The Lumpkin County High School Raiders are back on track and continuing a lineage of statewide success so far this season. The JROTC cadets have earned themselves a first-place state ranking after competing in a couple different meets this season.

Lumpkin mountain bike team finding success

Reaching the podium is one of the main goals when competing in mountain bike competitions. The Lumpkin County mountain bike team has made that a habit this season, seeing two team podium finishes in the first two races.
