Lumpkin football topples East Forsyth in spring game

For the first time in 168 days, the Lumpkin County football team returned to the gridiron for some head-to-head action against East Forsyth. In their previous season, East Forsyth led AAAA Region Eight and ended their year ranked first.

Lumpkin baseball earns All-Region honors

Several athletes from the Lumpkin County baseball team earned All-Region honors after this year’s season, including Tyler Boggs, Mason Hester, Alejandro Narvaez, Adian Rogers, Harper Davenport and Peyton Wood.  Head Coach Ryan Zaideman shared his thoughts on the great achievements of the athletes.

Lumpkin County track team sees success in State Finals

In a day unlike any other in Lumpkin County athletics history, an Indians long distance runner won not one, but two State Championships over the course of a two-day competition. Wyatt Windham’s name is no stranger to Nugget headlines, but his achievements continue to reach new heights.
Will McKinney was fired up after the Indians defeated Dawson County in the State Final Four. Following the big win, the team now looks ahead to Rome as they will compete against powerhouse Columbus with a State Championship on the line.

Lumpkin tennis conquers Dawson in State Final Four

It’s an exceedingly rare occurrence when two regional rivals meet in a state tournament, even more so when a trip to the State Championships is on the line. That was the case on Saturday May 4, as the Indians hosted their storied rivals Dawson.

Soccer teams rack up All-Region honors

All-Region honors were released this week and the list was packed full of Lumpkin County players. The boys’ squad came away with 10 total athletes making the cut and the girls added an additional 12 players in a very competitive region.

Lumpkin track athletes advancing to State

Several athletes had great performances in the AAA Sectional Track Meet at Franklin County High School. The three Indians who advanced through sectionals are Keli George, Wyatt Windham and Ben Sherrill.

Lumpkin tennis team is moving forward in the State Playoffs

It was a knockdown drag-out brawl for the Indians tennis team as they made the long trip to Oconee to clash with the Warriors. Coming into the big showdown, both teams knew they were in for a battle, and each hoped to punch their tickets to the Elite Eight.

Girl’s soccer wraps up State Playoff run in Oconee

The Lady Indians soccer season reached its end this week as the team ventured to Oconee County. The squad came up short to the Warriors by a score of 4-0. Despite falling to a very tough team in the State Playoffs the squad still put together an outstanding season.

The Indians blazed a trail of success at the AAA Area Seven Regional track meet at White County High School, leaving their competition in the dust. With their elite performances and impressive placements, several athletes have secured their spots in the upcoming sectionals.
