The Lumpkin County Soccer team hosted its annual Summer Camp this week, and there was a great turnout of 65-plus young aspiring future athletes. Equally impressive, 20-plus High School athletes volunteered their time to assist in the camp’s festivities.

For the first time in school history Lumpkin County has been awarded the Blitz Cup, a traveling trophy that was created in 2009. The Cup has been given out annually since its inception.

Lumpkin track athletes make college commitments

The Lumpkin County track team had two more athletes sign on to colleges to continue their athletic careers following very successful runs at the high school level. Ben Sherrill and Harper Hubbard made things official as they signed their contracts of commitment to continue their athletic careers.

Last week the Lumpkin County tennis team reached the conclusion of their State Playoff run at the hands of Columbus. The Tribe ultimately fell 3-0 as Columbus battled their way into the state finals without losing a single set throughout their entire bracket.
