Rifle team competes in Area Tournament

By James Wright / Special to The Nugget  -----------------  The Indians Rifle Team finished third in the Area Six Tournament. The team finished two busy weeks by hosting the Area 6 tournament on Saturday 7th on their home range.

Lumpkin basketball teams secure bids to the State Playoffs

The region tournament didn’t go exactly as planned for the local squads, but the finish line remains the same: both Lumpkin County High School teams are headed to State. The Lady Indians suffered a tough 70-64 opening-round loss to North Hall in the AAA Region Six Tournament.

Lumpkin varsity basketball teams conclude regular season

BOYS BASKETBALL RACKS UP ALL-REGION HONORS The Lumpkin County High School boys basketball team continued their historic basketball run last week as they wrapped up the regular season with two big wins. Their first came over Chestatee on Tuesday, by a score of 64-32.

Lumpkin wrestlers win State Championships

The Traditional State Championships are the Mecca of Georgia wrestling. Every athlete who steps onto that stage has survived a season full of trials and tribulations just for the chance to compete.

Boys soccer looks to utilize experience to build success

The Lumpkin County High School boys soccer team returns to the field this week with renewed purpose; after finishing last season 6–9 and placing 5th in the Region, the Indians enter the new campaign with motivation—and a point to prove.
