Powder Puff champs—Freshmen earn bragging rights

Lumpkin County High School hosted its annual Powder Puff tournament on Friday, May 16. It was a day of fierce competition, with each individual age group competing for bragging rights.

Track athletes earn podium finishes at State

The Lumpkin County High School track team made the long trip to Albany on May 9 - 10. Wyatt Windham, Witt Windham, Zeke Cochran, Eli Bankston and Keli George represented the Indians on the grand stage.

When you look back at the school records for track and field for Lumpkin County High School, one name that you will notice is Grace Jones. Jones holds the school record in the girls’ shot put and discus events. Her record in shot put sits at 38-5.5 feet and 108-3 feet for discus.

Lumpkin track athletes bound for State meet

One of the main goals for track and field athletes is to make it to the state level of competition. Several Lumpkin County High School competitors achieved that opportunity following this week’s sectionals meet in Jefferson on Saturday, May 3.

The Lady Indians soccer season reached its conclusion this week in the Sweet 16 round of the State Playoffs.  The squad came up short to currently second-ranked Jefferson by a score of 7-0.

Several Lumpkin County High School track and field athletes earned the title of Region Champions following a very successful meet at White County High School on April 22.

Girls soccer advances to Sweet 16 in State Playoffs

After a four-and-a-half-hour drive and a two-hour rain delay, the Lumpkin County High School soccer team was able to advance further into the State Playoffs, after a 5-1 victory over Southeast Bulloch. Single-season scoring record holder Kaitlyn Johnson led the team with four impressive goals.

Johnson sets new single-season scoring record for soccer team

The Lady Indians picked up a one-sided 9-0 victory over Union County in history-making fashion as Kaitlyn Johnson broke the record for goals scored in a single season. It came on a special night as Lumpkin County High School hosted a pink-out in honor of the beloved Rocky Barron.
