Travel softball team returns to Dalton tournament against tough opponents

The North Georgia Girls (NGG) travel softball team from Lumpkin returned to Dalton this weekend to compete in another tournament that saw some tough competition. The team started at a disadvantage, needing more players and had to bring in a few from their 12U program.

Senior athletes sign college scholarships

Several Lumpkin athletes signed to play at the collegiate level following their successful seasons at LCHS. Nicole Limehouse, Mary Mullinax, Lexi Pierce, and Kate Jackson put pen to paper this school year as they set their sights on working toward a bright future.

Lumpkin wrestlers had the opportunity to compete in the South-East Regional Championships over the weekend. They represented the county and the state against some of the best competitors in the southeastern region of the U.S.

The North Georgia Girls (NGG) softball program consists of several travel softball teams based out of Lumpkin County with the goal of giving opportunities to local athletes at a more affordable price.

Lumpkin fishing team takes second in championship tournament

Lumpkin fishermen Cooper McDonald and Walker Grizzle competed in the Star Championship fishing tournament and came away with a second place finish for the event. The team also earned the coveted Anglers of the Year Award. The duo caught 18.

Wrestlers advance to Southeast Regionals

A total of six Lumpkin athletes qualified for Fargo, North Dakota and advanced to the Southeast Regionals this week following some tough competition in both Greco and Freestyle events.

Lumpkin football finds spring game success

The LCHS football team picked back up right where they left off last year, as they hosted North Cobb Christian School for their spring game Friday night. The Indians were able to come away with a 49-6 victory over the Eagles.

Track athletes represent Lumpkin at State

The Lumpkin track season came to an exciting conclusion last week, as two of Lumpkin’s own competed against some of the best athletes in the state. Kaylee Caldwell and Wyatt Windham both came away with exceptional performances that led to some of the best placements in school history.

Lumpkin baseball players earn All-Region honors

The Lumpkin baseball team had several athletes earn 7-AAA All-Region honors following a great season. The team’s overall performance saw great improvement under the leadership of new Head Coach Ryan Zaideman.
