LCHS volleyball team picks up win over Rabun

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, Lumpkin County varsity volleyball battled two opponents, earning a win against Rabun County, but falling to Banks County. In their first match, the Lady Indians defeated Rabun County 2-0. Lumpkin took the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-19.

Lumpkin mountain bike team sees success at beginning of season

Getting their season underway on Sept. 9, the Lumpkin County Mountain Bike team traveled to Millidgeville to compete in the Battle of Bartram race. Head Coach Bennett Norton was very impressed with how the team performed during the event.

LCHS football tops Franklin 47-7 on the road

Continuing their run towards what they hope to be another great season, the Lumpkin County varsity football team hit the road to Franklin County last week. The Indians showed up big, dominating the Lions 47-7.  Head Coach Heath Webb felt the team played a great game against Region 8-AAA Franklin.

LCHS softball team shows strength in win over West Hall

The Lumpkin County High School varsity softball team competed in some great games this week as they took on West Hall and Pickens County.  The Indians split the games with a win over West Hall 6-0, and fell just short to a tough Pickens County 3-2.

Volleyball team picks up region win in tough week

The Lumpkin County varsity volleyball squad earned a region win against West Hall, but fell to region opponent White County in a tough five-game week.  On Tuesday, Aug. 29, the Lady Indians traveled to White County High School to take on both teams.

The Lumpkin County High School football team finally got their season underway against Union County this week, following the cancellation of their season opener against Riverside Military Academy.

Varsity softball sees tough week of competition

The Lumpkin varsity softball team had a tough outing this week as they took on Wesleyan and Dawsonville. The tribe unfortunately came up short in both games. Game one of the week saw the team square off with Wesleyan at home. The Wolves were able to come away with a 6-0 win over the Indians.

Volleyball earns region wins during busy week

It was a very busy week for the Lumpkin County High School volleyball team, as they picked up region wins and also played bigger schools and ended the week with a tournament. On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the Lady Indians earned region wins against Pickens and Gilmer.

Cross country team has high expectations for season

The Lumpkin County High School cross country team saw some impressive performances at the Pickens Preview event at Roper Park in Jasper on Saturday. The team finished 18th overall out of a very competitive pool of 33 total schools and third amongst regional competition.

Middle School football tops Tigers in season opener

The Lumpkin middle school football team started their season on a high note picking up big wins over Dawson County in both the seventh and eighth grade games. The eighth grade team was able to defeat the Tigers with an impressive 32-6 victory.
