Season 3 of the Night at the Ritz series will continue through May 2020, at Toccoa’s restored and historic Ritz Theatre.

Early detection is vital, cancer survivor says

Just because you can’t see or feel something, doesn’t mean it’s not there and Elizabeth Harper learned this first-hand when she was diagnosed with breast cancer last December at age 59. “When they found my cancer, it was very small and in the beginning stages,” Harper said.

MOUNTAIN TRAVELER: Pieces of the past

Pottery can tell a story, and the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia is home to many tales. Located on the campus of the Sautee Nacoochee Center (SNC), the museum was built in 2006, and was a gift to the community from Kay and Dean Swanson, said Patrick Brennan, SNC executive director.

Watercross returns to Tugaloo State Park

They’ll be flying over the water and the water will be flying. The Pro Watercross Tour will return to Tugaloo State Park near Lavonia July 27-28. The Pro Watercross Tour stages personal watercraft lap races all over the country – from Florida to Texas to Wisconsin to Georgia – each summer.

When taking the boat out on the lake, people typically spend their time relaxing, grilling or swimming in the water. At Clayton First United Methodist Church, people drive their boats to boat church. Christ’s ministry in the mountains found its way to Lake Rabun in the early 1970s by the Rev.

The dam that changed Hartwell forever

Fog used to settle in the bottomland in the 1940s and hang over the Savannah River as it meandered its way from Hart County to the Atlantic Ocean, blanketing the rolling foothills of Northeast Georgia and the farms that dotted the landscape.
