Family farm changes crop to Georgia hemp

White Family Barn Farm in Dahlonega is one of only 13 farms recognized last year by the Georgia Historic Preservation Division as a Centennial Family Farm, or a farm that has been owned by the same family for 100 years or more and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Tasting room uncorks new wine featuring local art

Naturally Georgia is a tasting room with an established legacy, providing tastings, glasses and bottles of Georgia-grown wines to local visitors since 2006. Manager Amanda Holt said that, in fact, Naturally Georgia is the longest-standing farm winery satellite tasting room on the Dahlonega square.

At their recent July meeting, the Lumpkin County Board of Education announced their intention to hold the millage rate steady at 14.71 for the third year in a row, which would result in an 8.3 percent increase in property taxes over the rollback rate.
