The Lady Indians Varsity softball team demonstrated their resilience this week, adding two wins to their overall record. Despite a tough start with a loss to Pickens County, the squad bounced back with a resounding 12-1 win over Rabun County on Wednesday.

Lumpkin softball team continues hot streak in region play

After another busy week of matchups, the Lumpkin County High School softball team moved to 9-2 in AAA Region Six competition. Last week, the Lady Indians clashed with Greater Atlanta Christian, North Hall and White County. Their first matchup against GAC resulted in a 12-0 victory for the squad.
Following last week’s big 47-9 win over Chestatee, the 2026 senior class becomes the winningest class in school football history. The team now has 30 total varsity victories.

Cross Country competes in Wingfoot Classic

The Lumpkin County cross country teams raced their way through the Wingfoot Classic in Clarkesville last weekend. It was a huge annual event that is sponsored by the Atlanta Track Club.  The boys’ squad competed against 33 other teams and came away with a fifth-place overall finish.

The Lumpkin County cross country team, in a display of collective strength, hosted their annual home meet at the UNG Gainesville campus last week. The boys’ team emerged victorious, clinching a first-place finish overall, outperforming 14 other schools.
