Flooding affects parts of Lumpkin County during the weekend

By Keith Murden and Matt Aiken / The Nugget  ------------------  Nearly record-breaking rain ran amuck over the weekend as a sudden Saturday downpour flooded roads and riverbanks all over Dahlonega and Lumpkin County. “That was quite the event,” said local weather guru Jason Hutcheson on Monday.
While several Lumpkin County Commissioners expressed support for the idea of livestreaming meetings, there was no clear consensus on how to proceed after their first work session. There is an opportunity for further discussion ahead of a board vote on January 20.
