The Lumpkin County Health Department is seeking bids for cleaning and floor maintenance services for the office located at 60 Mechanicsville Road. The bid is for a one year cleaning contract; beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025. Bids may be submitted for: cleaning services only, floor maintenance only or both services combined.

Sealed proposals from vendors will be received by the office manager at 60 Mechanicsville Road until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2024. Proposals will be publicly opened and read after the submission deadline. No extension of the bidding period will be made.

Bidding packets with a list of specifications, are available for pick-up at the Lumpkin County Health Department, 60 Mechanicsville Road or via e-mail at Susan.Cox@dph.ga.gov. Please contact Susan Cox with any questions at 706-867-2727.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF LUMPKIN COUNTY, GEORGIA:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 21, 2024 an election will be held at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Lumpkin County, Georgia (the County), at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of the County for their determination the question of whether a sales and use tax of one percent shall be continued on all sales and uses in the County for a period of time of six years commencing upon the expiration of the one percent sales and use tax currently in effect and for the raising of approximately $33,325,560 for the purpose of funding the capital outlay projects listed in the form of the ballot set forth below (the Projects). Each of the Projects may include the acquisition of land, equipment, vehicles, construction and renovation of facilities and parking areas, and other capital costs related to such Project.

The ballots to be used in said election shall have written or printed thereon substantially the following:

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be continued in Lumpkin County for a period of time of six years for the raising of approximately $33,325,560 for the purpose of funding (a)(i) the acquisition of the Pinetree Recreation Center, (ii) airport improvements, (iii) economic development, (iv) animal shelter, (v) emergency services, (vi) parks and recreation, (vii) renovations and repairs to existing county owned facilities, (viii) recycling, (ix) road department pole barn, (x) information technology, (xi) sheriffs office and (xii) water and sewer, all for the benefit of Lumpkin County, Georgia; and (b)(i) parking facilities, (ii) city hall expansion, (iii) tower radio read meter system, (iv) equalization basin wastewater treatment plant and (v) vehicle equipment maintenance facility, all for the benefit of the City of Dahlonega, Georgia?

The several places for holding said election shall be at the regular and established voting precincts of the election districts of the County, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date fixed for the election.

The last day to register to vote in this election shall be April 22, 2024.

Those residents of the County qualified to vote at said election shall be determined in all respects in accordance with the election laws of the State of Georgia.

The said named persons and any and all other persons known and unknown claiming any right, title, power, interest, ownership, equity, claim or demand in and to the lands hereinafter described, and all occupants, tenants, lessees, licensees and all holders, owners and users of ways and easements in, across, over and under said land are hereby notified, under the provisions of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated Sections 32-3-4 through 32-3-19, providing for the exercise of the power of eminent domain by the State of Georgia, or any of its subdivisions, or by any county of such State, as follows:

That in accordance with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section 32-3-13 through 32-3-19, if the owner, or any of the owners, or any person having a claim against or interest in said property, shall be dissatisfied with the compensation, as estimated in the Declaration of Taking and deposited in Court, such person or persons, or any of them, shall have the right, at any time subsequent to the filing of the Declaration and the deposit of the fund into Court but not later than 30 days following the date of service as provided for in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated Sections 32-3-8 through 32-3-10 to file with the Court a notice of appeal, the same to be in writing and made a part of the record in the proceedings.

Beginning at a point 135.61 feet left of and opposite Station 19+50.00 on the construction centerline of SR 52 on Georgia Highway Project No. 0013390; running thence N 63°39'20.0" E a distance of 20.62 feet to a point 155.00 feet left of and opposite Station 19+43.00 on said construction centerline laid out for SR 52; thence S 23°25'19.3" E a distance of 24.04 feet to a point 162.00 feet left of and opposite Station 19+66.00 on said construction centerline laid out for SR 52; thence S 62°45'21.0" W a distance of 19.76 feet to a point 143.52 feet left of and opposite Station 19+73.00 on said construction centerline laid out for SR 52; thence N 25°28'53.4" W a distance of 24.32 feet back to the point of beginning. Containing 0.011 acres more or less.

The title, estate or interest in the above described lands, required by condemnor and now taken by condemnor for public use is as follows: A permanent easement is condemned for the right to construct and maintain slopes as shown described within on the attached plats dated the 15th day of December, 2022; Sheet No. 60-0002, last revised December 18, 2023; Sheet No. 60-0003, last revised September 26, 2023; Sheet No. 60-0004, last revised March 7, 2024; and attached hereto as Annex 1-A.

A driveway easement is condemned for the right to construct a driveway to connect the newly constructed road and right of way to the condemnees remaining land for driveway purposes. Said easement shall expire on April 1, 2029 and is as shown described within on the attached plats marked Annex 1-A. Upon completion of the project, the driveway will remain in place for use by the condemnees.
