The above-and-beyond efforts of third-grade teacher Missy Robinson have not gone unnoticed as she’s The Nugget’s first School Spotlight nominee.
“That woman has a heart of gold that loves her students with all she has, as well as the parents,” said Amber Tarnacki when nominating the Lumpkin County Elementary School teacher. “She’s never turned away anyone and never will. God put her in the spot she’s in for a reason."
Robinson has been on the job for 27 years. And it’s clear she’s making a difference in and out of the classroom.
“My favorite part of my job is watching the students I teach grow as individuals inside and outside of the classroom,” she said. “Getting to be even just a small part of their educational experience is a joy and a blessing to me and I know that this was what I was called to do.”
When she’s not teaching Robinson likes to relax with her loved ones.
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and my church family,” she said. “I love being with my seven dogs, and enjoying a mug of coffee while reading a good book.”
That’s right, there are seven dogs in the Robinson pack.
“I have Duncan and Toby, who are my outside dogs. And Ziggy, Tucker, Clea, Milo, and Ellie, who are my inside dogs,” she said. “Yes, I am a sucker for dogs. My two outside dogs are rescues that I adore.”
Thanks to Tarnacki for the nomination. And thanks to Robinson for all you do!
