The dream of a new Community Helping Place clinic is slowly and surely becoming groundbreaking reality on Rock House Road.
“Just one year ago, Community Helping Place embarked on an ambitious journey,” stated CHP Director Melissa Line. “After months and months of searching for a new location that would allow us to serve more patients and bring the clinic closer to the center of our main operations, we began a capital building campaign.”
The death of the beloved Anne Green refocused the effort last year as it was decided that the new facility would be named in honor of the hardworking “clinic visionary and faithful volunteer,” said Line.
In a recent Nugget article Paula Payne said it’s the perfect dedication for a woman who touched the live of so many local residents.
“It will be the Anne Green Free Clinic,” said the former clinic director and current Director of Development and Operations. “Her love for the people of the community will go on.”
The big plan is to finish the facility on January 2022. And so far so good. Even though it’s been an unpredictable road along the way.
“This project has faced a global pandemic, drastic change to the original site plan, hurricane related weather setbacks, and the diligence of a very special CHP board member David Luke,” stated Line.
