This year’s Dahlonega Magazine breaks the rules.
And that’s on purpose.
In the past the stories for our annual magazine have been, well…simply stories.
We’re talking about straight forward features focused on Dahlonega and Lumpkin County.
But this year we decided to take a different route.
Sure you’ll still find the traditional stories, like Jake Cantrell’s lively take on the local pickle ball scene.
And there’s Sam Lyden’s look at the 40th anniversary of The Fudge Factory.
But the remaining entries are actually columns from the first person perspective.
We’ve also included a couple of talented local authors to help liven things up.
For starters there’s Bud Stumbaugh’s sage advice for friend-making in Dahlonega.
And then there’s Shannon Sexton's hometown tourist tips, including warnings of creepy ghost kids on the square.
Matt Aiken also offers advice on how to navigate our town without road signs. And sales rep Lindsey McLamb explores the fun world of fungi in Lumpkin County.
Meanwhile John Bynum’s photography and layout brings the pages to life. (Even his dog Peaches contributed to the cover shot.)
It all makes for a great read.
And since it’s inserted in this edition you don’t have to go far to get it.
So make sure you take a look at our latest publication.
Yes it may break the rules.
But some rules are made to be broken.
Especially when they make for a better Dahlonega Magazine.
