Lumpkin JROTC cadet Liv Lusky earned a victory at the 2022 JROTC Service Championships, Regional Competition in Anniston, AL.
The JROTC Service Regional competition gave athletes who earned the right to represent their schools an opportunity to meet the challenges of a major shoulder-to-shoulder competition.
This competition was a 2-day shooting event, consisting of 20 shots in the prone position, 20 shots standing, and 20 shots in the kneeling position.
The competition showcased the top shooters from several surrounding states.
Lusky ranked in 4th place overall and earned one of the eight spots in the Finals. She then gained and maintained a strong lead as one of the top 3 shooters throughout the Finals and finished 3rd place overall, taking home a Bronze Medal.
Lusky will now advance to the 2022 JROTC Nationals at Camp Perry, OH to be held 17-19 March 17-19, where she will be the only Army shooter from the state.
Her superior shooting earned her 1 of only 5 spots as the Army Precision Individual Top 5 shooters throughout the nation.
Lusky will be representing the Army for this competition against other branches of services; Navy, Marines and Airforce.
