—Wrestling rule changes approved for next season

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Wrestling Rules Committee met in early April and recommended 11 rules changes which were approved by the NFHS Board of Directors and will take effect during the 2020-2021 wrestling season.
With significant adjustments in the rules for weigh-in protocols and appropriate hair length requirements being some of the changes that the Wrestling Rules Committee was recommending, part of the revisions by the committee appeared to be a concerted effort to accommodate the ever-growing number of female student athletes taking part in the sport.
