Theodore “Ted” John Figarola, Jr.
It is with great sadness that the family of Theodore “Ted” John Figarola, Jr. announce his passing at the age of 76 on January 1, 2018 after a long illness.
Ted was born on June 24, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA. He lived in South Jersey and later fulfilled his lifelong dream of retiring to Dahlonega, GA. He worked in the family business, Crown Pipeline & Construction, Incorporated, as a pipeline contractor for 42 years. He loved history and collected war memorabilia and was an active member of the Lumpkin County Historical Society. He loved woodworking and could often be found in his shop making beautiful gifts for others. He also loved coffee, pocket T-shirts, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mildred “Midge;” his sons Theodore Figarola and Wayne Figarola; his daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Alan Rusk; his grandsons T.C. Figarola, Josh Figarola, Kenny Figarola, and Tyler Rusk; and his great-granddaughter Vega Figarola. He will forever be remembered as selfless, kind, and caring.
A memorial service was held Saturday, January 6, at Dahlonega Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Lumpkin County Historical Society, PO Box 894, Dahlonega, GA or the Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge, 1552 Shoup Court., Decatur, GA.
