Kathleen Billie Wimpy

Born in Gainesville, Ga. on January 26, 1921 to parents William and Marvelle Fry Dobbs, she had lived most of her life in Lumpkin County. She was a 1937 graduate of Camilla High School and a 1940 graduate of North Georgia College where she graduated with honors and was a North Georgia College Alumni Association member. Mrs. Wimpy had been a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church since June 4, 1950. During her membership, she was active with WMU, Sunbeams, Vacation Bible School and her TEL Sunday School Class where she served as treasurer. Mrs. Wimpy also served on the search committee to find the last two church pastors.

She had attended every Gold Rush Days event since that time until this past one.
