Alan Jonathan Wimpy “Jon” of Palmetto, FL, passed away on his 54th birthday, January 17, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice in Ellenton, Florida. 

Jon was the owner of Appalachian Material Service. Jon is survived by wife, Jamie Wimpy; parents, Al & Ann Wimpy of Dahlonega, Georgia; daughter, Casey Schneider; three grandsons, Jack, Guy, and Dean Schneider of Bradenton, FL; step son, Race Foster; sister, Katherine Carey; niece, Ruthie Carey; nephew, Henry Carey of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Dog, Callaway; seven uncles; nine aunts, and 25 cousins.

Jon was happiest being on the water. He will be remembered most for his generous spirit and compassionate heart. He never met a stranger. Generous to a fault, he was loved by ALL.

Funeral services were held Tuesday January 23, 2018 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. Interment followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.
