A two-month-long undercover investigation has led to the arrest of a Dahlonega man who was the alleged drug supplier for more than a dozen local residents, said deputies from the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office.
Dahlonega resident Brad Blazek, accompanied by his service dog Shadow, has bravely fought his own personal battle since suffering a brain injury while serving in Iraq. And he’s hoping to help others who have similar struggles, with his new children's book.

By Jennifer Ramsay / The Nugget The demolition of the old school building at 147 North Park Street finally began last week, after two weeks of interior prep. The building, which has been there since the 1950s, has been a topic of discussion for the council for years.

The Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners voted to call a special election for Nov. 2 in order to fill the vacancy left in the board representing District 1 as a result of the passing of Commissioner Dr. David Miller  during its Special Called Meeting on Wednesday, May 12.
