What happened to Charles M. Hosch? . . .  it’s been nearly 50 days since the Texas attorney disappeared into the Blood Mountain wilderness and still that urgent question remains. Understandably, his daughter Julia Hosch won’t rest until she finds answers.

Missing hiker search stretches on

Julia Hosch is searching for any shred of information that might point to the whereabouts of her father, a 67-year-old Gainesville native who went missing in the Blood Mountain wilderness last week, and she’s hoping that someone in Dahlonega and Lumpkin County might be able to provide it.

BREAKING NEWS: Owens takes the night in City Council race

The ballots are in and Tony Owens has emerged as the clear Post 1 victor in the lone contested race for Dahlonega City Council.  The local business owner managed to garner 434 votes (68 percent) while fellow businessman Tom Gordineer notched a total of 204 ballots (32 percent) on Tuesday night.

Melanie Charles’ favorite thing about her job is the children,  “I loved being around children even when I was young, I was the go-to babysitter who would always plug in and volunteer with children,” Charles recently told The Nugget.  And her devotion to kids shines through.
