American Red Cross blood drive
On Monday, January 7, the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in the downstairs meeting room of the library. You may sign up online at www.RedCrossBlood.org with the sponsor code “lumpkin” or by calling 1-800 RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Before you donate: Drink extra caffeine-free fluids, like water or juice; eat a good meal or snacks; do not smoke for one hour before or after donation.

Friends of the Lumpkin County Library meeting coming up
Each January, the Friends of the Lumpkin County Library hold their annual meeting.
This year’s meeting will be held on Thursday, January 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room at the library, and all members of the community are invited to attend.
Over the past few years, the Friends of the Library have sponsored our Summer Reading Programs, funded genealogy programs, and helped with specific needs of the library over and above the normal budgeted items.
As a new library is on the horizon for the library, the Friends will play an even more important support role.
If you would like to become a Friend of the Library or just learn more about the Friends organization, then you are encouraged to attend this upcoming meeting.
