Lumpkin votes YES for T-SPLOST
The turnout was low but the result was clear.
A little more than 62 percent of local voters approved of the transportation-related Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax during the March 19 election.
A total of 766 voters showed up at the polls (out of 20,215 registered voters) with 478 voting for the measure and 288 voting against it.
Most voters chose to cast their ballots ahead of time with 490 people taking advantage of advance voting. 13 votes were cast by absentee mail ballot. And 263 votes were cast at the polls yesterday.
