$360k drug operation busted
Investigators suspected they’d find marijuana at the Camp Wahse-ga Road residence of Robert Cartee and Tracey Diamond Cartee on Thursday, but nothing like this. “They were surprised at the level of it,” said Lt. Alan Roach of the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office. “And the sophistication of it.”
That level was a reported 174 marijuana plants which were growing indoors at the residence of the Lumpkin County couple.
Investigators also reportedly found three pounds of marijuana packages and ready for distribution.
Officials estimates that the crop has a street value of $360,000.
The swift investigation began with a recent complaint of suspicious activity in the area of the sizable Camp Wahsega Road house.
It’s a home that has a varied history as it was once the site of a local women’s shelter and even a UNG sorority house.
Rob Cartee has a colorful history as well as he was reportedly a former producer of multiple adult lms before moving to Dahlonega.
A search of the house re- portedly turned up 24 firearms, seven grow lights and five power inverters.
Robert Cartee, 53, and Tracey Diamond Cartee, 50, were both charged with trafficking marijuana.
