Mrs. Ida Price, age 66, of Dahlonega, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at her home.
Ida was born in Lumpkin County May 10, 1945 and had lived most of her life in Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Price was the daughter of the late Walter McClure and Delsey Goss McClure. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Young and Joan Dodd; and brother, Clarence McClure.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Odes Price, Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law, Effie Price and Nicky Bruce, Dahlonega, Elaine and Melvin Jarrett, Epworth, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Charlotte Price, Michael and Melinda Price, Walter and Teresa Price, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Nichole Price, Jordan Dover, Christopher Price, Anthony and Pamela Ingram, Joshua and Julie Jarrett, Jessica and Lionel Johnson, Jennifer and Jasemine Jarrett, William and Chasity Price, and Angel Evans; great-grandchildren, Ethan Price, Dylan Cochran, Nathan and Aiden Ingram, and Noah Johnson; sisters, Minnie Landers, Gainesville, Ga., Ruthie Green, Gainesville, Ga., Jannie Marchbanks, Cleveland, Ga., Gladies Tullis, Landrum, S.C., Nancy Hamilton, Cleveland, Ga., and Helen Smith, Clermont, Ga.; brothers, Junior McClure, Dahlonega,, Willie McClure, Cleveland, William McClure, Gainesville, Ga., Johnny McClure, Dalton, Ga., Wayne McClure, Cleveland, Ga., and Gary McClure, Cleveland, Ga.. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Price were held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
Rev. Charles Grant officiated.
Interment followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

Raymond Joseph Garrison
Raymond Joseph Garrison, age 86, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2012.
Mr. Garrison was born in Englewood, N.J. on January 18, 1926 to Edmond and Elizabeth (Flotard) Garrison. He was a World War II veteran and a custom home builder in Lake Valhalla, N.J. and Naples, Fla. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson College, a member of Sons Of The American Revolution, Masonic Lodge in Naples, and a volunteer for the Meals On Wheels at the Lumpkin County Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Howard) Garrison of Dahlonega; son, Ray Garrison Jr. of Suwannee, Ga.; daughter Jill (John) Gargiulo of Woodstock, Ga.; daughter Jane Garrison of Naples, Fla.; brother, Mervin Garrison of Philadelphia, Penn.; stepchildren Scott and Ebett Cronn, Valpraiso, Indiana, Blaine and Darcie Cronn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kathy Cronn of Boyne City, Michigan; six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, February 4 at the Dahlonega Methodist Church. Dr. Jeff Ross, Rev. Christy Greenwald, grandson Rev. Paul Irminger III officiated.

Katie Shelton, age 85, of Buford passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Tara Plantation following a period of declining health.
Born March 12, 1926 in Lumpkin County to the late John W., Sr. and Ella Perry Ralston, she resided in Chamblee over 50 years prior to moving to Buford in 1999. A homemaker at her death, she retired from Frito-Lay after over 20 years of service. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Shelton; dear friend, Hal “PawPaw” Compton; sisters, Clara Barker, Laura Ralston, Ollie Ralston; and brothers, W. I. Ralston, J. D. Ralston and John W. “June Bug” Ralston, Jr.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jo Ann Shelton, Cumming; sisters and brother-in-law, Jimmie Nell Hamby, Cumming, Geneva and Jerry Smith, Chickamauga, Martha Taylor, Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Brenda Ralston, Bonair, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Lethia Ralston, Conyers, Donnis Faye Bragg, Mableton, Willa Dean Smith, Douglasville, Annie Ruth Corder, South Carolina, Doris Baxter, Douglasville; brother-in-law, Jimmy Shelton, Mableton; grandchildren, Donny and Tammy Shelton, Dawsonville, Jill and Jeff Harwood, Cumming; great-grandchildren, Andrew Shelton, Ansley Stevens, Chase Samples; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held February 4, 2012 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Wehunt and Mr. Jimmy Meadows officiated. Interment followed in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Cora Freeland, age 91, of Dahlonega, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega.
Mrs. Freeland was born September 8, 1920 in White County, Ga. She lived most of her life in Lumpkin County. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. Cora was a dietician with the Lumpkin County School System for many years. She taught piano and guitar lessons and was an outstanding seamstress.
Cora was the daughter of the late William Gerrells and Callie Allison Gerrells and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Freeland; son, Morris Freeland; sisters, Dola Burke and Lola Burke; brothers, Billy, W.S., Henry, Joe, and Hoyt Gerrells.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jarrett and Brenda Freeland, Buford, Ga.; grandchildren, Tammy Ragland, Buddy Freeland, John Freeland, Danielle Long, Andrea Day, and Kevin Freeland; great-grandchildren, Jarrett Freeland III, Emory Long, Graham Long, Hannah Day, Jacob Day, Victoria Freeland, McKenna Freeland, Charity Cagle, and Sterling White; great-great-grandchild, Camden Cagle; sisters, Lou Ella Hansen, Gainesville, Ga., Mary Palmer, Stone Mountain, Ga., Onie Belle Miller, Covington, Ga., Jane Bailey, Dahlonega; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Freeland, Cumming. A number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Cora are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the Siloam Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
Mrs. Freeland will lay in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. J.R. Fields and Rev. Tony Allison will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Sherman “Chub” Sullens
Mr. Sherman “Chub” Sullens, age 59, of Dahlonega, died January 29, 2012.
He was born in Dahlonega. He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Babe” Sullens and Bessie Sullens; brother, Sylvester Sisk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Ruby Stephens.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sullens; daughter and fiancé, Nancy Sullens and Scott Campbell; daughters, Wendy Blackburn and Samantha Sullens, all of Dahlonega; sister, Velva Bruce, Dahlonega; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Robert Gibson, Dahlonega, Lucy and Jim Baliles-Carrier, Ellijay, Wesley and Joan Stephens, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Frances Sullens, Clermont, Ga., Tommy and Linda Sisk, Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Edith Sisk, Murrayville, Ga. and Elizabeth Stephens, Braselton, Ga.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Clara and Danny Dyer, Gillsville, Ga., Kathy and Glenn Crane, Braselton, Ga.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Wanda Stephens, Lula, Ga.; grandchildren, Micah Blackburn and Khloe Blackburn. Funeral services were held February 1, 2012 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Interment followed in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery.
