Helen Marie Kimsey
Helen Marie Kimsey, age 91, of Dahlonega, passed away Tuesday, February 29, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Helen resided in Dahlonega for 36 years and was a faithful Charter member of the Dahlonega Assembly of God for 34 years.
She served in our military during World War II as a WAC in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Vernice McKinney; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bruce Irving; and son, Joseph Kimsey; grandchildren Steven and David McKinney, Allison and Melissa Irving; great-grandchildren, Lauren Kimsey, Charisma McKinney, Braden and Megan McKinney, and Addison Irving.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Dahlonega Assembly of God, 2152 Dawsonville Highway, Dahlonega.
Pastor Phill Gilstrap will officiate.

Eva “Tip” Raines
Mrs. Eva “Tip” Raines, age 92, of Dahlonega, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at New Horizons West Nursing Home in Gainesville, Ga.
Mrs. Raines was born in Vonor, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and member of Yahoola Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Jake Millsaps and Fannie Gooden Millsaps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buck Raines; sons, John Raines and Jim Raines; grandsons, Robert Taylor and Vance Raines; six half-sisters; one half-brother; and three brothers.
She is survived by daughters Bernice Taylor, Murrayville, Marie Fields and Ann Chester, both of Dahlonega, Lois (Edwin) Pirkle, Flowery Branch, Ga.; daughters-in-law, Betty Raines, Dahlonega, Betty Major Raines, Murrayville; sister, Isabelle Taylor, Madisonville, Tenn. A total of 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Yahoola Baptist Church.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Sandra Elrod officiated.
Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.

William “Bill” Carpenter
Mr. William “Bill” Carpenter, age 81 of Suches, died March 23, 2012.
Mr. Carpenter was born in Hayesville, N.C. He grew up in Clayton, Ga. before moving to Suches, where he lived for 49 years.
He was the son of the late Henry Carpenter and Florence Webb Carpenter. He was also preceded in death his first wife, Ella Mae Carpenter; sons, William David Carpenter and Larry Lee Carpenter; sisters, Marie Hunnicut and Elizabeth Ann Queen; brothers, Clarence, James and Robert Carpenter; stepsons, Stanley and Tommy Green; and stepdaughter, Stella Mosley.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Carpenter, Suches; daughters, Jean (Tim Ramsey) Henslee, Blairsville, Ga., Diana (David) Woody, Suches; son, Mickey Carpenter, Social Circle, Ga.; stepdaughters, Minnie Marcus and Josie Mosley, both of Clayton; stepson, Carl Green, Clarkesville, Ga.; daughter-in-law Sherry Carpenter, Social Circle, Ga.; sister, Arizona Holt, Clayton; brothers, Carl Carpenter, Irvin Carpenter, and Howard Carpenter, all of Clayton. A total of 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Hunter Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton.
Rev. Clarence Drummond and Carl Carpenter officiated.
Interment followed in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Tiger, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with burial expenses.
