Staci T. Kiefaber finds herself with a deserving place in the School Spotlight as the Lumpkin County Elementary School teacher has been recognized for her hard work and creativeness in the kindergarten classroom this week.
"She is very passionate about educating her students,” said Kristin Young Richardson while nominating Kiefaber for The Nugget’s Spotlight. “She truly cares about every one of them. She is not boring. She brings excitement to every school day."
Kiefaber has been bringing that excitement to local students for 15 years.
“I have happily taught them all at Lumpkin Elementary,” she said. “I am not a “native nugget,” but I want to be.” In fact, Kiefaber has embraced her Nuggetness so much that she named the family chihuahua Nugget.
When not at school Staci can be found with her husband Ryan and their children Elliot and Davy.
“I enjoy arguing with my two children, snuggling with my three pound chihuahua, and teaching kindergarten,” she said. “My favorite part of teaching is simply being around the kids. I love their personalities and their humor. They can make any gloomy day bright without even knowing it. I love watching them learn to read, something they will use for the rest of their lives. It’s pretty remarkable to watch.”
Thanks to Richardson for the nomination. And thanks to Staci for all you do!
