So far it looks great. This is the kind of courthouse our county needs.
I like it, I just wish it was in a different spot.

LUMPKIN FOOTBALL: Indians take Friday off, hope to recuperate

The Lumpkin County High School football team has this Friday off.

It may be the best thing for the Indians, who have suffered two straight losses to Flowery Branch and Gainesville, and who are pretty banged up with nagging injuries right now.

Lumpkin played Friday's game against the Red Elephants without Chad Fulton, who has been out since the opening game of the year with a sprained knee.

They also were without the services of running back Cameron Jackson, who suited up but was unable to overcome an ankle injury to play.

Furthermore, quarterback Daniel Abercrombie played, but after only having limited practice time during the week.

With this Friday off, Lumpkin can come into its Homecoming contest next Friday against Johnson refreshed and energized.

Lumpkin continues to improve on a weekly basis, sticking to head coach Tommy Jones' game plan of just trying to get better each and every time they go out there.

Though the last two weeks were tough games against top opponents, six games remain on the schedule for Lumpkin, which is capable of playing with anyone if they execute well.

This Friday, Lumpkin fans will have a chance to watch the future Indians in a junior varsity home contest against North Paulding, which will start at 7:30 p.m. at Lumpkin Stadium, on Sept. 28.

The Nugget asks you to please just stick to the issues at hand. That way we'll keep the debate lively, without getting personal.
