Saints welcome Pruitt to staff

The North Georgia & State University Athletic Department welcomed Jason Pruitt as the new Academic Advisor and Compliance Officer effective July 1. The new position was announced just days before North Georgia discovered that it received full membership from the NCAA.

“Having the opportunity to work with Coach Dunn, Lindsey Reeves, and Denise Bryant is exciting,” Pruitt said. “They are people I really respect and like a lot and I couldn't ask for a better situation.”

Pruitt makes his way down to the athletic department from being Registrar at North Georgia College & State University where he has served since 2001.

“I have always enjoyed advising students and helping them be successful,” Pruitt said.

“I jumped at the opportunity to be able to do that for this group of student athletes.”

Pruitt was also instrumental in making sure North Georgia received the full NCAA membership. He was a member of the compliance team and spent countless hours digging through records and making sure athletes were eligible.

“Loving what you do and loving your job is something you can't put a price tag on,” Pruitt said. “Working in athletics is something I have always wanted to do, I really enjoy working with students athletes.”

Pruitt is passionate about jumping on board the winning ways of the North Georgia team. He was crucial the last two exploratory years making sure rosters turned into The Peach Belt and the NCAA met compliance standards.

It is obvious that Pruitt is excited about starting a new job and helping North Georgia become a winner across the board. Student athletes at North Georgia will have the pleasure of working with Pruitt starting in August and getting to know the newest face in the Athletic Department.
